Alex Maccallini is a Transportation Project Manager at Shared Mobility Inc., where he supports the planning and implementation of transportation and mobility projects across New York State. He is proficient in GIS and supports SMI’s data analysis, reporting, and grant writing by creating maps.

Since joining SMI in 2024, Alex has led SMI’s efforts on Project MOVER, a $7 million Clean Transportation Prize recipient supported by NYSERDA. Through his work, he is particularly interested in developing innovative, equity-focused transportation solutions that improve mobility access for communities.

Alex holds a B.A. in Geography and Political Science from SUNY Geneseo and a Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning from the University at Buffalo. His interest in inclusive transportation design is informed by his experiences with loved ones who face barriers accessing traditional transportation networks.

Alex commutes by bike every day, even through Buffalo winters.
