Mike Galligano is the Chief Executive Officer of Shared Mobility Inc., where he leads the development and implementation of innovative transportation programs that expand access to affordable and sustainable mobility. As a founder of SMI, Mike has helped shape the organization’s work since its inception in 2009, leading innovations across shared mobility, bikeshare, carshare, electric mobility, and emerging transportation technologies, with a focus on turning innovative ideas into practical, community-based programs.

Michael works with public agencies, nonprofits, and private-sector partners to develop transportation solutions that can be tested, scaled, and replicated in communities across the country. He has successfully launched shared mobility services in more than 20 municipalities, facilitating more than 2 million miles of shared transportation. He has also leveraged more than $40 million in public, private, and philanthropic funding to support equitable transportation services.

His work and expertise have been featured in publications including The New York Times, Fast Company, WIRED, and Governing. Michael holds a degree in Urban Planning from the University at Buffalo and has contributed to SMI’s work in electric mobility hubs and emerging transportation technologies.

Outside of work, Michael is an avid disc golfer and is working to master the art of “liming” at local cafés in every city he visits.
